J.W. Snootz here I have been writing since elementary school, by never learning to print as a child, and having to learn cursive writing inspired me to write a lot as a youth. Writing my first novella at only 10, and staying in the 100 page realm for a long time, finally getting a push from my wife to create more elaborate stories here I am. Interview With J.W. Snootz:

 

1. Can you tell us a little about your books? 

My books all have a deeper meaning that hopefully will resonate with people of all different persuasions, walks of life, and if I am lucky each will lend itself to both entertain you and make you feel something very personal. Whether it's about love, lust, the way you want to chase your dreams or just to be closer to someone. Each person's interpretation of the meanings of the characters and their stories should make the books a story they could tell their friends about and how it relates to something personal with them. 

 

2. Which book has been your favorite to write? 
I really am deeply connected with my short book The Third, but the most fun to write was Vhamps, it was so fast paced and fluid I really enjoyed how easy it came, and how the characters sort of told their own story while I hit the keys. 
3. What inspires you to write? 
My wife, my kids, my own personal life, my friends, my desire to provide some fun and entertainment and yet hopefully make people think a little bit along the way. I want to write stories not to change people's lives. I have heard many people say that about author's books, but that's not a goal I think people necessarily aim for when you write. For me at least I just want to make people feel something, whether it's about their current life, future goals, or a difficult past. If my books influence their lives in the smallest of ways well then I have achieved my goal which is to allow them make the change in their own life. Even if they just need to feel like it's ok to take a leap of faith, or tell someone to piss off, whatever the case maybe my influence should be so minimal that they won't even notice that the book planted a seed that eventually grew into a bold change. 

 

4. Do you have a favorite spot to write? 

My tiny desk, spotless and clean in a quiet office in a corner. Sometimes I do mix it up and take my computer to random places and just pour out a couple hours worth of words. 

 

5. Do you listen to music while you write? 
I usually do everything from Kesha to Nirvana and most anything that sounds good. I often will write to techno or upbeat fast paced music. 
 
6. Do you work with an outline, or just write? 
I have done both, usually my process is all in my head, I tend to end each book with a post it note or two of notes, and a paragraph here or there stored with some basic concepts. Usually I just need to know the beginning and the ending and the middle gets me there all by itself. 
 
7. When did you know you wanted to write a book? 
When I was five, but I didn't write full long stories until I was about ten, then I wrote a lot. I mean volumes of pages full, nothing I would publish today, but stuff that was just for me, or a girlfriend in middle school, or just the world and my views on it. Things that have certainly shaped and will continue to my writing of the past and future. 
 

8. For someone who hasn't read any of you books yet, which one would you suggest they read first?  
All the fans say Swinging in Paradise is the favorite to start with. I wrote them with the intent that Seeking would be first but people love the hot sex and mystery in Swinging which is always a great place to start. If you want less sex then Vhamps is a very good place to start as well for the paranormal crowd. It has a little bit of everything for everyone. My books are also great for couples and men to read as well. 

9. What are you working on next? 

Vhamps Vol. 2 is a major focus right now. I also have another book finished and on Standby that is a HEA the details are still to come on that. Plus I have about 5 other books and some more short stories I am chipping away at. I like to write several things at once until one reaches about the 100 page mark and then I slowly focus more and more on it until about the half way point of the story then I finish that before going back to other projects. I know focus problems right.
