Sophie, famous for being infamous, got her part in the film due to her daddy, the studio chairman. But there’s more to her than wild nights and drunken tabloid photos, and she’s aching to prove it. Under Tennyson’s protective wing, she begins to navigate the uncharted territory of responsible adulthood and takes the first steps toward a legitimate, lasting fame based on her talent, not her reputation.
But in order for Sophie to truly soar on her own, she’s going to have to shed every part of her life.

There aren’t many things better than picking up my Kindle and getting completely sucked into a whole new world—where words morph into images and characters’ moods suddenly reflect my own. Aside from good plot and writing, for me, it boils down to relatable characters.
As a writer, I’m not finished until the men and women in my books come to life, until I can see them as real people, until I can connect with them. Which means I write what I want to read: everyday heroes and heroines who have the same struggles we all do. They evolve, have flaws, make mistakes and amends, learn, and find the endings they fight for.
Those are the characters who take the readers on a journey away from work, laundry, grocery shopping, and to-do lists.
When I’m not writing, researching, or brainstorming, I’m either planning my next trip (never-ending bucket list!), reading, watching hockey, or spending time with family and friends.

Interview With Cara Dee:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write what I want to read, and I'm curious about countless genres and
subjects, so that's probably why I can never stick to only one
category. Most recently, it was Hollywood. I wanted to see the backside
of it, yet see some of the shine, too. Research, interviews,
documentaries, and a slight obsession with age difference gave me
Breaking Free. It was supposed to be a short story, but anyone who knows
me by now know that'll never happen haha. Like my previous North
Novels, this one little story became two full novels, and it begins with
a simple suggestion (or demand): a public relationship between Tennyson
Wright, the director of the film, and the much younger party princess
Sophie Pierce, who got her supporting role in the movie because her
father is a chairman at the studio.
I
loved writing Tennyson and Sophie because they develop so much
throughout their story. Love doesn't magically fix every problem, and
sometimes you have to grow alone before you can grow together.
2. What inspires you to write?
Anything can set me off, as long as I haven't written about it before. A subject, a song, a movie, a quote.... It's both frustrating and overhwhelming!

It's a tie between the North Novels and the two Breaking Free books.

Either my own little office or the living room. If hubby watches a game, I'm outta there.
5. Do you have any “odd” writing habits?
Hmm, I don't think so, other than closing myself in completely. But I'm not sure that qualifies as odd. Writers don't want to be disturbed haha!
6. Do you listen to music while you write?
Usually, yes. To most my stories, I have specific playlists.

As in a team? Hell yes. New York Rangers for the NHL, Redhawks for the SHL, and Sweden for international championships.
8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I have a few projects I'm working on. Discovering her Universe is a
romance about the realities of being with someone who's autistic, Public
Display of More is the sequel to Public Display of Everything, and the
Deadlands Trilogy is a gritty, post-apocalyptic, um, shitstorm, for lack
of a better word. It's gonna be dark. But first off, I have the release
of With Brave Wings, the sequel to Breaking Free, and it comes out this
August. :)
