Review for Ashes and Asphalt by Trevor Holloway

Ashes and Asphalt

Ashes and Asphalt

by

Bill Byrne is dead and his last request is for his estranged sons, Mike and Kyle, to bring his ashes to the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. They have five days to travel two thousand miles and if they survive a renegade biker from New Orleans, three carjacking lunatics, and the police, they'll be home free...unless they kill one another first.

Review:
Ashes and Asphalt is a little different type of book then I normally read but after reading a sample, I knew it was a book I wanted to read.     It definitely didn't disappoint.

The beginning hooked me right me.   In the beginning we get to meet Wild Bill and see a little bit of how Bill is.   Bill seems like a really cool guy but not one that you want to mess with.  Bill's friend Charlie is a good friends and you can just tell how much bill means to him.   So, if you read the blurb you know Bill passing away.  Knowing he going to pass away doesn't take a way from the his death being emotional.

After Bill passes away, his boys (Mike and Kyle) return to town for the funeral.    Mike and Kyle do not get along and haven't seen each others in a while.   These two really don't get along and I wasn't sure if they were going to end up beating each up.   Bill's final wish is that his boys bring his ashes to Sturgis.   That is going to be a hard task for Mike and Kyle but it makes for a great story.

We get flashback of how if was for Kyle and Mike growing up.   I loved that we got flashbacks.  The story kept me hooked from the beginning to end.  It great story about two likeable brothers that has adventure, sad parts, funny parts, and never a dull moment.
