Bio
I
live in South Africa just outside of Johannesburg in a gated community
that looks like a scene from the step ford wives. I am married to my
high school sweetheart and have two girls that are the cutest writers
block that ever lived. I have a very unhealthy dependancy on coffee, i
won’t eat purple sweets and could happily live without chocolate, but
not my kindle.When I am not writing I am reading, and reading and
reading - I read a lot and i think I will always be reader first and
writer second.
I
love to travel all over my stunning country and am blessed to able to
do it often. I have two pet Meerkats that i have had since they were
only days old.
I
am slightly obsessed with serial killer and other strange Tv shows and
would seriously date Dexter if he asked me out, he could even cling wrap
me i would be cool with it.
Interview with A. Giannoccaro:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
Both of my books are dark romance, its the genre i read the most and where the characters my mind creates seem to fit the best. I am from Africa, things are very different here and so that flows into my writing. Colour My Ugly was my first book and I loved writing it and I think I will always have a special place for it. Monochrome My Madness was born out of a crazy idea and watching way to many serial killer shows on TV and is a brutal story it was just as brutal to write as it is to read.

2. Do you have a favorite character to write about?
Rowan, I loved every single minute spent inside his head. It was an adventure every time. He has so many layers of truth that make him who he is - and lets face it he is hot.
3. Where did you get the ideas from?
I have no idea, they just sort of attack me when I am trying to cook, shower, wake the dog… they just come to me.
4. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I write at my dining room table, but when life and kids get too crazy I escape to sanity of a coffee shop near by.
5. Do you have any “odd” writing habits?
I cannot wear shoes and write, I have to have coffee when I write and I very seldom write at night.
6. Do you listen to music while you write?
Always, I find that having the music drown out the world around me helps me to exist only in the world i am creating.
7. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I wrote a list of ten things I wanted to do a “bucket list” of sorts in 2007, on it were ten wildly adventurous crazy things and then one that said “SIT DOWN AND WRITE THE BOOK IN YOUR HEAD” in March 2014 i had crossed them all off except that one, i had walked with an elephant and dived with a great white shark but not sat down to write, so i did because a list was not going win! I wrote Colour My Ugly In four months with not a souls knowing I was doing it, not even my husband. I only told him the day i typed the end. I did not plan to publish it at that point it was going the bottom drawer.
8. What's your favorite activity to do when you're not writing?
Read, I love reading. Then travelling with my family and watching my husband do what he loves to do -race cars.
9. What was the last book you read?
This will be so outdated by the 7th because I read at least four a week, but right now I am reading My Dear Stranger by Sarah Ann Walker.
10. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working on Transparent a novella in the colour series and Black Hole Heart which is the conclusion to the series, I do have another top secret project in the plotting stages that i will get into soon.
