February's Read and Review of Love Hurts by Mandi Beck

February's Read and Review!!

Love Hurts (Caged Love, #1)

Love Hurts (Caged Love #1)

by
Even when she won’t fight for us, I’ll go to war for her…

Inside the Octagon, I have no fear. I’m at home, in my element, inflicting pain onto men trained to hurt me just as badly. Making them submit, knocking them out, maiming them, because it’s them or me. And I choose them.

Outside the Octagon, my only weakness is a five-foot-two, classy as fuck woman that I’ve loved for most of my life. She’s the one that brings me to my knees, fills my arms, my heart, and one day soon, my bed. She makes me reckless. Volatile. I drink too much and try too hard to fuck my way out of feeling—all because of her.

Frankie De Rosa is my girl, my best friend. I haven’t earned her yet, but I won’t stand by and let anyone take her from me. She will be the greatest fight of my life, but she’s worth the battle.

Love hurts, but anything worth having does, right?

I’m Deacon “The Hitman” Love — Welcome to the Cage.

Amazeballs Book Addicts Readers Reviews:

Nancy H:
My heart hurts for these characters. This is one emotional roller coaster ride. The characters of Deacon and Frankie are intense and raw. It is refreshing to have the story told from a man's point of view. I enjoyed reading about his thoughts and his feelings concerning Frankie.
Their passion and love explode when they finally come together. It breaks me to read about Frankie's insecurities because of Deacon's past. I found myself wanting to slap her upside her head. Which in my opinion means, Mandi Beck did her job. So thank you. This is a excellent read and although it is a cliff hanger, I highly recommend this book.
4 Stars!!

Elizabeth W:
This was a great beginning to a new series by a new author.  The characters are incredibly well developed. There are characters I wanted to hang out with, some I wanted to hug, and some who made my skin crawl.  I loved Mandi Beck's world building.  I could see the fight venues, the gym, the studio.  It was really well done.  The romance was angsty and hot.  The love scenes were off the sexy scale.  I could feel their joy and their pain.  It was a very emotional read.
There were some spots in the story that seemed to be drawn out unnecessarily and others where time was fast forwarded almost too much.  There were also a few way overused phrases or gestures.  Overall though I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.  Especially since this one ends with a cliffhanger!

Dana A:
This book was hard to put down.  The writing is really good and the characters are interesting.  Deacon "The Hitman" Love is an MMA fighter who is cocky, arrogant, temperamental, and a player.  He is also in love with his best friend Francesca "Frankie" De Rosa.  This couple has many ups and downs in this book and sometimes their actions would drive me crazy, but overall it is a very good book.  There is a shocking cliffhanger that left me wanting to read more.  I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Keri G:
What an overpowering and emotional read this was, I'm still left in shock....

Deacon is an amazing guy who has his issues, but who don't right, he loves Frankie very much but yet can't seem to get it right but soooooo desperately trying. My heart is still broken for him.

Frankie has went through alot of shit, she knows she loves Deacon but yet can't seem to fight for her man... (wake ur butt Frankie, he's fighting for you, will u fight for him?)

would've gave this wonderful story 5 stars but that cliffhanger is a dooooosey!! definitely ready for the next installment!!
4 Stars!!!
