About Wendi Hulsey:
My name is Wendi Hulsey. I was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, just south of Milwaukee. After several vacations to the sunshine state, my husband and I fell in love with the warm weather and decided to have a house built in Florida. I miss my family and friends up north; however, I will never regret not having to shovel snow again. I have been a registered nurse for about ten years. I currently work on a medical/surgical unit, preferring to work the night shift.

My husband and I have been married for sixteen years, and I appreciate his support during this endeavor. I have one son who is a hard working grown man now living on his own. He has blessed me with the most precious grandson and a wonderful future daughter in law. My daughter is a beautiful and smart teenager who excels at just about anything she tries. She enjoys playing soccer and we have spent numerous hours on various soccer fields. I am blessed to have my mother, a retired cook, living with me and she is a great help with cooking, cleaning, and chauffeuring the teenager. Other members of our family include; one dog, one cat, two turtles and several fish.

My love for reading began at the age of twelve on a stormy day. With nothing to do I was bugging my mother, she said, “Go read a book.” I have never stopped. As a teenager, I preferred horror books, mainly Stephen King. As I age, my reading tastes change and I currently read mysteries, romance, or erotica. It has always been my dream to write a book. Although writing is a hobby for me, I hope to produce a book to the best of my abilities and hope you have enjoyed what you read. Thank you for your support.

Interview with Wendi Hulsey:

 
  1. Can you tell us a little about the Desire Series?

The Desire Series is about Kylie who fled an abusive relationship to reunite with her two best friends, Courtney and Cameron, twins who moved away during their childhood. Kylie and Cameron had been secretly seeing each other before the move and things quickly heat up between them again once reunited. The books are filled with love, romance, sex, drama, heartbreak, humor, and climatic cliffhangers.

  1.  How many books will there be in the Desire Series?

Originally there was only supposed to be three books: Tainted Desire #1, Heated Desire #2 and Everlasting Desire #3 however when I touched on Courtney’s story in book 2 my readers said she needed her own story, so I wrote a novella that just released October 12th called Desperate Desire #2.5. Everlasting Desire the final book should release early 2015.

  1. Do you have any “odd” writing habits?

Not really. I started writing just by the seat of my pants, but with the novella I started outlining and found that it really helps to keep me focused on where I want the book to go and to not leave out any major scenes that I want included in the book.

  1. Do you listen to music while you write?

I don’t listen to music, but usually have a lot of household activity going on in the background. Kids, animals, hubby blaring the TV, etc.

  1. How did you choose the genre you write in?

I don’t know if I chose it or it chose me. I just had a story in my mind to tell and romance/erotica is where it fell under. I do have several books planned once this series is complete in different genres. I don’t want to be tied into one genre. I guess still being relatively new I still need to find my writing genre I enjoy the most.

  1. When did you know you wanted to write a book?

I have always wanted to write a book, but never knew about the Indie writing community until a friend/co-worker introduced me to it. I never tried before for fear that I would be turned down by several publishing companies.

  1. What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?

I’m old!! I have a 24 year old son, 14 year old daughter and a grandson that is 20 months.

  1. What's the last book you read?

Shadow Dancer by Addison Kline, can’t wait to start the next one in series.

  1. What do you do when you are not writing?

I work (a lot) as a registered nurse, working the night shift 7pm-7am, I also like to travel and take cruises 2-3 times per year. But my biggest hobby lately is just getting on the floor and playing with my grandson when he comes over.

 
  1. What are writing projects are you currently working on?

During NaNoWriMo, I hope to knock out most of the last book in the series, Everlasting Desire. I am also working on a dark sided YA novel, because I don’t think all books have to have a HEA. some young adults need to read about the harsh reality of life. Then I have a psychological thriller planned (this is what I’m itching to write the most) unfortunately, I have people screaming at me for the last book in the series.
