Dark Cravings is book 1 in the Dark series by Madeline Pryce and it is fantastic!
Ella Grey, a half-breed vampire, does her best to pass the time killing demons and secretly admiring her Shadow Hunter partner, Micah. He's hot, dangerous and knows it. He'd be just Ella's type if he weren't likely to kill her the moment she put a toe out of line.
Enter amazing chemistry. Micah and Ella have trouble fighting their feelings for one another until they encounter a succubus who unleashes a spell on them. No longer able to fight their desires, they give in to passion.... and it's primal and hot!
After the couple comes up for air, they begin to process what has happened to them and the fallout is staggering. Secrets are uncovered. Lives are altered. Loyalties are challenged. Ella and Micah are faced with a prophecy they new nothing about, and feelings they never thought they'd have.
I really loved this story. It was a good balance between romance/sex and plot. I loved how the author kept me on my toes with twists and turns that I didn't really expect. I am dying to see how the next book begins! This book didn't exactly end in a cliffhanger, but there definitely was a teaser that about drove me nuts! How will Ella's sire, Julian, figure into the next book? Will Ella and Micah's future solidify, or will the past come back and bite them in the.....
I would definitely read this book again, and can not wait to read the next book to find out if Ella and Micah are really..... If you love a good paranormal romance, then this book is a must read. I can't say anything else or it will just spoil the read for you! Besides, when it comes to telling the secrets, you know I'll never tell.
